More info about Tom Wills:
Manchester artist Tom Wills grew up surrounded by live music and the buzz of packed dancefloors. By 14, he’d landed his first real gig, the start of a journey that’s taken him from small local stages to festival crowds, always chasing that spark only a real live show can create. Known for sharp style and commanding presence, Tom brings bold, unapologetic energy to every stage he steps on.
For Tom, it’s never just about the music. It’s about creating a space where people can let go, be themselves, and find their people in the crowd. A moment to feel part of something bigger.
Working with producer Sholz-Y on melodic house built for peak dancefloor energy, this latest release connects Tom’s past to his present. He remembers receiving a free James sampler CD in the 00s, one of those Sunday newspaper giveaways. “Laid” and “Sit Down” became his favourite tracks, worn out on repeat.
Years later, the chance came to see James live at Lytham Festival with his dad and brother. That core memory unlocked, reconnecting Tom to the band and the song “Laid.” But this time, older, the lyrics hit different. “Messed around with gender roles, line my eyes and call me pretty”, the song resonated not just musically like it did as a child, but lyrically.
For Tom, reimagining “Laid” isn’t just a cover. It’s amplifying the queer-coded energy that was always there, the fluidity, the chaos, the refusal to fit the mould.
Tom and Sholz-Y have transformed the 90s indie melancholy into a groovy house anthem built for 2026 dancefloors
